Clinical professional with an educational background in biotechnology, biodefense, & neuroscience / employment background in drug safety, pharmacovigilance, & medical documentation.
I have always had a passion for advocacy in medicine. During my undergraduate years, I studied neuroscience to better verse myself in neurodegenerative disease. In graduate school, I applied that knowledge in the biotechnology program, in which I specialized in biodefense. We were taught how to take our expertise in disease and apply that to public policy – explaining complex medical diagnoses to the public in a digestible way. Over the course of my two-year M.S. in Biotechnology, not only did I learn how to discuss neurological diseases caused by fungi, parasites, viruses, and bacteria to the public.
